WordPress.org AKA WPMU – Advanced Help

WordPress fails to work with you or keeps asking for authentication??

Easy results are here

If Wrodpress keeps asking for your ftp..
add the following script to the wp-config.php page

//*PreSaved FTP Credentials
define('FTP_HOST', 'your ftp host');
define('FTP_USER', 'your ftp username');
define('FTP_PASS', 'your ftp password');

If you have SSL for FTP add this line to use it
define('FTP_SSL', true);

FTP Permissions: The site doesn’t turn on or you get access denied
when you change something in WordPress

There are set of default ftp permission rules for WP..

Directories (Folders):  755

Files: 644

.htaccess 644 (if bugs use 766)

Nothing should have 777 or your site can be hacked.

Anytime you have alot of files to upload, or a plugin..
and you want to save time?
use cPanel’s File Manager. to compress and then extract files on server.

tip: Screw Zipdeploy it doesn’t do the job even when it’s paid!

Regards, D
