The problem in Windows 7 is idiotic..
While most people disable all applications that use port 80 such as Skype / IIS / NOD32 … etc.
The smart move I did was to change the port in httpd.conf to “localhost 8080” instead of 80
As for Skype.. you can disable the use of port 80 as alternative.. in the options menu
now if the LOCALHOST still doesn’t browse.
All it takes is to start the APACHE.. the problem is.. ( IT DOESN’T START AUTOMATICALLY, neither is managed by WAMP )
You need to run the following code on your Directory / RUN / or Command Prompt Window.
WAMP Directory\bin\Apache\Apache Version\bin\httpd.exe –k install
WAMP Directory\bin\Apache\Apache Version\bin\httpd.exe –k start
Here’s an example on my version I installed WAMP on E: with Apache version
E:\wamp\bin\apache\Apache2.2.21\bin\httpd.exe –k install
E:\wamp\bin\apache\Apache2.2.21\bin\httpd.exe –k start
